The Mechanics – How it’s done

As birds grow, the Trays are incrementally opened affording birds a larger feeding space and feed depth to accommodate their progressively larger body and feed consumption needs.  Opening of Trays on a feeder line is achieved by an Actuator system in which the Butterfly Trays are attached to non-stretch cable that is in turn attached to a winch.  Simply turning the winch handle engages the opening process for every Butterfly Tray on the feeder line.
